In the midst of nature, the house is surrounded by mountains, beech and oak woods, and the silence of Asturias landscape.

From our house you can climb up Picos de Europa, stroll around the Lakes of Covadonga, and visit “La Santina” in her cave. Close by, you will find the source of the river Cares canyon, and descend the river Sella by canoe.
Near our home there are plenty of restaurants offering the best of both traditional and new Asturian cuisine. We will advise you.
PICOS DE EUROPA
La Casona is ideally located for walks, trekking and mountaineering. We are located right at the foothills of the Picos de Europa National Park. And we are surrounded by gorges, limestone peaks and forests. And paths going deep into the woods.
Ponga Natural Park, famous for its beech woods, or the beautiful Los Beyos road, are nearby. And you can enjoy from the mountains, only 15 to 20 minutes away by car, the valleys, towns and villages typical of Asturias mountainous scenery.
Asturias abrupt eastern coast is filled with towns, viewpoints and cliffs with several beaches looking onto a clean, green sea…
THE SEA
You will discover unique beaches, such as Gulpiyury, Torimbia, Ballota, Vega… Viewpoints looking into the horizon, like El Fito or Andrín. The deep see breaths against cliffs and blowholes. You may go surfing, build castles in the sand or run barefoot.
And you can swim, go canoeing and walk along the banks of blue rivers, like Cares, Dobra or Sella, while enjoying the view of stonewalls, huts, the unique vegetation of the area, and sometimes encounter hedgehogs, roe deers, trouts and salmons jumping on the river.
BIOSPHERE RESERVE

Known as “La Montaña de Covadonga,” (the Covadonga Mountain), the western part of Picos de Europa was designated national park back in 1918. Since 1995, the national park extended to the entire Picos de Europa range, which covers three regions of Spain: Cantabria, Asturias and Leon. In 2002, it was recognized as Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
